Folks,

I didn't notice
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-homenet-arch/ on the IESG
agenda until just now. I think it's important enough for me to review
that I've employed the seldomly-used IESG hammer of "The Defer",
delaying consideration until the 26-September telechat. I would very
much appreciate an AppsDir review of this document as well. Could
someone be assigned quickly and get the review in time for the telechat?

Thanks,

pr

Hello all,

draft-ietf-insipid-session-id-reqts-08.txt is in LC and neds our
attention.

Abstract

This document specifies the requirements for an end-to-end session
identifier in IP-based multimedia communication networks. This
identifier would enable endpoints, intermediate devices, and
management and monitoring systems to identify a session end-to-end
across multiple SIP devices, hops, and administrative domains.

Now that we should all be back from vacations, let's see if there is a
volunteer for this review ;-)

The C ends on 2013-09-24 and that's also the review deadline.

Please confirm on the list!

many thanks!

PS: there are also

  draft-ietf-repute-media-type-10
  raft-ietf-repute-query-http-09

which were never picked up by assigned reviewer: anyone to help on these
short one "now" ?

Claudio

As we did also the other DIME WG docs, I suggest we add our review to the
list, too.

I guess Sep 30th may be a deadline for it, but I've asked the WG chair
about it.

Any voluneer for this early review? (by tonight)...

Subject: [dir-coord] review request for draft-ietf-dime-app-design-guide-19

Folks,

draft-ietf-dime-app-design-guide-19 has ended WGLC a while ago. Before advancing it into IESG I would be happy to receive reviews at least from Gen-ART, AAA directorate, Sec-dir and Ops-dir. The focus should be on Sec-dir and AAA Directorate. There are no transport related discussion/recommendations in the draft.

Thanks,
 	Jouni (Dime co-chair)

Subject: [appsdir] Request for review: draft-ietf-homenet-arch

Folks,

I didn't notice https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-homenet-arch/ on
the IESG agenda until just now. I think it's important enough for me to review
that I've employed the seldomly-used IESG hammer of "The Defer", delaying
consideration until the 26-September telechat. I would very much appreciate an
AppsDir review of this document as well. Could someone be assigned quickly and
get the review in time for the telechat?

Thanks,

pr

As we did also the other DIME WG docs, I suggest we add our review to the list,
too.

I guess Sep 30th may be a deadline for it, but I've asked the WG chair about
it.

Any voluneer for this early review? (by tonight)...

Subject: [dir-coord] review request for draft-ietf-dime-app-design-guide-19

Folks,

draft-ietf-dime-app-design-guide-19 has ended WGLC a while ago. Before
advancing it into IESG I would be happy to receive reviews at least from
Gen-ART, AAA directorate, Sec-dir and Ops-dir. The focus should be on Sec-dir
and AAA Directorate. There are no transport related discussion/recommendations
in the draft.

Thanks,
 	Jouni (Dime co-chair)

An informal review, I just happened to find it interesting. Nothing leaps
out at me suggesting it shouldn't be published.

=A71 para 5: Apparently home networks are what they are. I admit to being
easily baffled, but I cannot understand how they might not be what they
are. Perhaps:

"We assume that the IPv4 network architecture currently deployed in home
networks can not be modified by new recommendations."

In general, =A71 uses a lot of the terms of art from =A71.1, which I found
quite hard to deal with - perhaps some of the paragraphs of =A71 could be
moved below =A71.1, either as a =A71.2 or something else.

=A71.1

"CER" I understand as "the router"; that is, it's the pre-existing
DSL/Cable router that's in the majority of home networks now, right? The
term used elsewhere in the document is "modern home router", which seems
obvious enough, but isn't present in the definition.

I've read through the rest of the document, it looks good to me (though
some parts I've only skimmed).

=A74 seems less of a conclusion and more of a summary; I'm not really sure
what it's there for. What I was hoping to find here was a bullet point list
of new work needed. Instead, potential new work items are scattered
throughout the text, making them hard to locate and enumerate.

Dave.

I guess we can easily publish it...

I asked SM to do the formal review, but he can include also your comments
in the formal review itself, if yoiu both agree (I've nothing against it).

thanks Dave!

Hi all,

also draft-ietf-clue-telepresence-use-cases-07.txt has started its LC, and
needs a review from us:

Abstract

Telepresence conferencing systems seek to create an environment that
gives non co-located users or user groups a feeling of co-located
presence through multimedia communication including at least audio
and video signals of high fidelity. A number of techniques for
handling audio and video streams are used to create this experience.
When these techniques are not similar, interoperability between
different systems is difficult at best, and often not possible.
Conveying information about the relationships between multiple
streams of media would allow senders and receivers to make choices to
allow telepresence systems to interwork. This memo describes the
most typical and important use cases for sending multiple streams in
    a telepresence conference.

the due date is 2013-09-26.

thanks indeed

Hi Ted,

[Cc to appsdir@ which is publicly readable]

Please see the message at
http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/apps-discuss/current/msg10454.html
for context.

I suggest talking to Barry and Pete as this is an unusual
situation. I don't know how the working group read the review from
Dave Cridland and my review. I prefer not to see a fight between
Apps and another area as it does not help anyone.

Barry, Pete, can you provide some guidance?

Thanks,
-sm

The document discusses about addressability. As=20
Pete pointed out there's an application=20
perspective to that. There are two alternatives=20
right now, i.e. what Dave Cridland suggested or=20
looking into the organization of the=20
document. There may be more alternatives if there is input from other=

The bottom of the stack approach is not that=20
practical when the parts have to be put=20
together. In my opinion it leads to complexity.

I thought about MIF when I was reading the=20
draft. The home networking would likely be using=20
split views for DNS. I have to go through the=20
DHCPv6 specifications and some of the MIF work=20
before I can comment on the MIF architecture=20
document. The work is not that hard. I'll take=20
the liberty not to explain why or else I will be=20
volunteered for IETF work. :-)

Best regards,
