Hi

Your revival of the plan to turn off FTP (yay) reminded me to write up =
what I learnt about our archived content served by HTTP, rsync and FTP, =
which you might find useful

	=
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BfxF33MN_GNwEc_taZrCBPFRUz1nhyqouu-e88=
ILuP4/edit?usp=3Dsharing

I=E2=80=99ve suggested to Roman that if the pushback to turning off FTP =
continues then perhaps this needs to be addressed by an overall rethink =
of how we provide reference archives covering the full list of data and =
all the access mechanisms.

Your list includes "iana-timezone". Is this something under control of I=
ANA or is it just a historic archive?
If it is under IANA's control, I don't think we (IETF) have the right ti=
decide to turn off FTP for this part.

It=E2=80=99s a mirror of the IANA timezone database at https://www.iana.org/=
time-zones

The protocol parameter registries are similarly mirrored.=20

As discussed today, we're currently thinking of having our next calls on

21Jul : 1500-1600 UTC

10Aug: 1500-1700 UTC

Roman - would you be able to make those times?

Any opinions here? If you don't know enough to have an opinion, what

Glen -

I'd like to try to get a first round of wg github repository backups
made before next Tuesday's tools call. I'm planning to do this manually
at first, and use what I learn to decide where to put the automation.

What directory should I put these in? Assume they will be large-ish
(quic's was ~20Mb when I last looked).

I'm looking at datadog. From a few minutes of playing with it, I think
the docker integration monitoring it does could be useful to us.

See https://www.nostrum.com/~rjsparks/datadog_example.png for an example
of it monitoring docker on my laptop for a little while.

Does anyone (particularly Glen) object to me running an agent on ietfa?
It entails just running another docker image, and can easily be stopped
at any time.

My assumption is that these will not be public. That is a ticket will =
be needed for the Secretarit do do anything with the backup copy.

See <https://trac.tools.ietf.org/tools/ietfdb/ticket/2929> and
<https://trac.tools.ietf.org/tools/ietfdb/ticket/3016>.

I propose we always show pending meeting requests to everyone (as noted
in 2929) and given the logic argued there, also show any that are in the
waiting-to-be-announced queue to anyone.

If anyone thinks otherwise, please say so now.

Right now, there are a huge number of interims. Will that go back? =
Will it make this change awkward if it does?

I don't think the volume of requests makes a difference. It doesn't
change implementation complexity, and I don't think it makes things

Alexa (BCC Secretariat Staff, Tools Implementation) -

In the past the IETF have used Etherpad, which is kind of a Googe-Docs-like
shared editing system, to take notes during IETF meetings.

The IETF is planning to migrate from Etherpad to a new system called CODIMD
("Ko-dee-emm-DEE") which does similar things. I have just learned that
CODIMD will be in production use during IETF108.

However, CODIMD has not yet been handed off to AMS IT for Operations - it
is not yet on our managed cloud setup nor is it something we've got
operational familiarity with yet. It is still under Robert's care.

So, any complaints or issues with CODIMD, during IETF108, should be
forwarded directly to Robert for handling and management.

We'll be working on transitioning it to AMS operational management post
IETF-108.

Thank you,
Glen

(Driven by some of today's discussion)

To start to build a more common understanding of what we've currently
deployed and how we're deploying it, I've started
https://codimd.ietf.org/ti-docker-notes.

Eventually we can use this as input to a small set of common patterns to
follow when building new docker containers we plan to run.
